Popular Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has firmly refuted claims of an affair with Captain Matthew Ekeinde, the husband of acclaimed actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde. The allegations surfaced from a TikTok blogger who claimed that Ekeinde gifted Etiko a car, prompting the actress to address these rumors during a recent Instagram live session.
Etiko dismissed the claims as "false" and part of a broader attempt by certain individuals to tarnish her reputation. “If you want to withhold the blessings of God in somebody else’s life and you want to grow, it is impossible,” she stated, defending her hard work and achievements. She emphasized her independence, noting, “I worked for 99.9% of all I have. I did it all myself with my full chest.”
The actress explained that a viral photo of her with Ekeinde was taken over four years ago when he was the pilot on a flight she took. She recounted the interaction, stating, “He asked what was happening, and they told him I was an actress. I greeted him with respect and asked for a selfie.”
