Sean "Diddy" Combs has been denied bail and will remain in custody as he awaits his sex trafficking trial. The music mogul faces allegations of orchestrating drug-fueled sexual encounters and assault. Prosecutors argue Diddy used his influence to cover up his crimes, while his defense maintains his innocence.
Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been ordered to remain in jail without bail as he awaits trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The decision was made on September 17 by a New York federal judge who rejected a $50 million bail proposal from Combs' attorneys.
Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty, is accused of organizing drug-fueled "freak offs" — orchestrated sexual performances involving both female victims and male sex workers. The indictment also includes allegations of an assault on his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, reportedly captured on video.
During his arraignment, prosecutors alleged drugs were found in his hotel room at the time of his arrest. Despite his lawyers arguing that the charges stem from a consensual relationship and not coercion, the judge sided with prosecutors, citing concerns about obstruction of justice, including witness intimidation and bribery.
Combs, 54, appeared in court dressed casually and remained composed as he entered his not guilty plea. His defense lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, acknowledged Diddy's troubled past, including drug use and toxic relationships, but insisted his client was undergoing treatment and therapy.
Prosecutors remain firm, labeling Diddy as a "serial abuser" who used his influence to hide his alleged crimes. The trial date has not yet been set.
