Deputy Inspector-General of Police Frank Mba has voluntarily retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 34 years of distinguished service. Mba, who served as DIG in charge of Training and Development, bows out following the retirement of former IGP Kayode Egbetokun and the appointment of IGP Olatunji Disu. A former Force PRO and Lagos Command spokesman, Mba joined the force in May 1992 as a cadet officer, graduating as best cadet in academics. He holds a law degree from UNILAG, was called to the bar in 2002, and earned a Master's in Law with distinction from the University of Dundee. He attended the FBI National Academy, Harvard, and Oxford, and served in UN peacekeeping in Liberia. Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission has invited seven Assistant Inspectors-General for promotion interviews to the DIG rank. The AIGs are Margareth Ochalla, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Ishiaku Mohammed, Zacharia Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, and Umar Shehu Nadada. They will be interviewed Friday for possible elevation to the Force Management Team.
