In the aftermath of the Kogi state governorship election, Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, accuses the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of vote allocation, asserting that there was no actual election in the state.
Despite Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) being declared the winner, Melaye labels the election as "shameful" and claims it dealt a setback to democracy. Expressing dissatisfaction with the credibility of the process, Melaye vows to prove the absence of a legitimate election.
Notably, he dismisses the importance of his own vote, stating it is legally immaterial, emphasizing that the focus should be on the election's processes and conclusions rather than peripheral issues.
