Mutesi Joline, the wife of a Zimbabwean diplomat, was arrested in Uganda for allegedly murdering their 2-year-old son. The tragic incident, which followed a DNA test revealing two of their children were not the diplomat's biological kids, is under investigation by local authorities.

A diplomat's wife, Mutesi Joline, was arrested in Uganda for the alleged murder of her 2-year-old son, Nganwa Rugari. The tragic incident occurred on the evening of April 1, 2025, when the child reportedly fell from their first-floor apartment in Kampala. However, the circumstances surrounding the fall have raised suspicions. Shortly after the incident, Mutesi contacted relatives to arrange the child’s burial, which seemed unusual given the circumstances.

The tragedy occurred amid a divorce proceeding between Mutesi and her husband, Chris Rugari, Zimbabwe's Consular General to Uganda. As part of the ongoing legal process, a court-ordered DNA test revealed that two of their children were not biologically Chris’s, a revelation that caused significant marital strain. Mutesi was reportedly aware of the possibility that some of the children were not her husband’s.

After taking the child to the hospital, Mutesi's account of the fall appeared inconsistent. The doctors found no visible injuries, and a subsequent post-mortem did not support the claim of a fall. The investigation revealed that the window from which the child allegedly fell was locked, with no signs of forced entry or damage.

Due to these discrepancies, Mutesi was arrested for further questioning as authorities continue their investigation into the child's death.
