Natasha Osawaru, fiancée of singer 2Face, has been removed as minority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly after a shift in legislative control favoring the APC. The political reshuffle follows defections from the PDP, reshaping the Assembly’s leadership and stirring public attention around Osawaru’s personal life.

Natasha Osawaru, a prominent Edo State lawmaker and fiancée of Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia, has been ousted from her position as minority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Osawaru, representing Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lost her leadership role following a political shake-up triggered by the defection of four PDP legislators to the All Progressives Congress (APC). With the new majority, the APC moved swiftly to restructure key positions within the Assembly.

In addition to Osawaru’s removal, the house also replaced the former majority leader and chief whip, signaling a deep shift in legislative control. However, PDP members Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko maintained their posts as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, though leadership sources suggest those roles could face reevaluation in the coming weeks.

The shift was confirmed after Jarret Tenebe, APC’s acting state chairman, formally notified the Assembly of his party's numerical advantage. Subsequently, new leaders were appointed from the APC ranks, further consolidating the party’s grip on the legislature.

Osawaru, who recently gained public attention after 2Face proposed to her following his separation from actress Annie Idibia, has yet to publicly comment on her removal. Her personal life has remained a trending topic on social media, with many speculating about its potential impact on her political standing.

The PDP is expected to propose new nominees for vacant leadership positions soon, as the Assembly braces for further changes amid Edo State’s tense political climate.
