The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained 10 officers from its Lagos Zonal Command, following allegations of theft involving operational items. The officers were arrested last week under the directive of the EFCC's chairman, Ola Olukoyede, and are currently under investigation for failing to account for certain missing items.

While the names of those involved have not been disclosed, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, stated that the investigation is progressing well. The commission is determined to uphold internal reforms and eliminate corrupt practices within its ranks. Those found guilty will face disciplinary action by the agency’s internal processes.

This development follows the dismissal of 27 officers earlier in the week, who were removed from their positions due to alleged fraudulent activities and misconduct. The EFCC emphasized its ongoing commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring accountability among its staff. Additionally, the agency is looking into further allegations involving a sectional head, but further details have yet to be disclosed.
