The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has escalated its efforts to apprehend former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, warning of potential military intervention to ensure his arrest.
Despite facing an arrest warrant and scheduled court arraignment for alleged financial misconduct, Bello has remained elusive, reportedly seeking refuge in the Kogi State Government House.
The EFCC, determined to hold Bello accountable, emphasized that immunity does not extend to individuals aiding his evasion. Mr. Kemi Pinheiro, counsel for the EFCC, stated during court proceedings that the commission is prepared to involve the military to enforce the law.
Bello's evasion has sparked a contentious legal battle, raising questions about governance and the rule of law.
