Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen remains confident in his squad's ability to perform against Rwanda despite missing key players like Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, and Stanley Nwabali. Nigeria aims to maintain its unbeaten record in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, with a focus on tactical adjustments and squad depth.
Super Eagles’ caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has expressed confidence in his team’s depth ahead of their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda. Despite missing key players like Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who are unavailable for the match, Eguavoen believes that the remaining 23 players can step up to the challenge.

Nigeria has already secured the top spot in Group D, but Eguavoen emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and ensuring a positive result in the game. He reiterated that every player in the squad is ready to play, regardless of who is selected to start. Eguavoen stated, “Our boys are 100% professional, and they know what it takes to win games.”

In terms of tactical adjustments, Eguavoen hinted at a few changes, including the possible return of goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who will likely make his first Super Eagles appearance since 2021. Bright Osayi-Samuel could replace Aina in the right wing-back role, while Bruno Onyemaechi may fill in on the left. The defense will be bolstered by the presence of William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey.

Midfield options such as Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Frank Onyeka are expected to feature, while Victor Osimhen, who is tied with Segun Odegbami for 23 international goals, will lead the attack. With Lookman absent, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Boniface will take on greater responsibility in the forward line.
