Augustine Eguavoen has resigned as the interim coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles following their recent matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Eguavoen, who led the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a 0-0 draw against Rwanda, announced his departure on September 10 at Kigali Airport.
He was initially appointed to manage only these two games. Eguavoen expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and gratitude towards the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the players.
He also hinted at the future, suggesting that the next coach would need to strategize against upcoming opponents like Libya.
