Elton John, the legendary British singer, shared a personal revelation with a theatre audience on Sunday, revealing that he has lost his eyesight. Attending the launch of a new show in London's West End, the 77-year-old star admitted that he could no longer see the performance, though he still enjoyed the music. John had previously spoken about an eye infection that had left him unable to see out of his right eye, with the vision in his left eye also deteriorating.
This condition has impacted his ability to read and could potentially hinder his future music projects. Despite his eyesight challenges, John attended the red carpet event for the musical The Devil Wears Prada, for which he composed the score. Though unable to see the production, he expressed his appreciation for the performance, noting that it “sounded good tonight.”
Elton also took the opportunity to thank his husband, David Furnish, for being his constant support during this difficult time. Known for his iconic music, including hits like Tiny Dancer and Rocket Man, John has spent decades at the forefront of the music industry. After wrapping up his farewell tour from 2018 to 2023, he has since focused on family life.
