Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, delivered a powerful sermon at the Kofar Kudu Central Mosque in Kano, emphasizing the importance of faith and acceptance of divine will. Addressing the congregation, Sanusi stated, "No one can ask God for an explanation on any issue," highlighting the necessity of unwavering belief in Allah during both good and bad times.

Sanusi elaborated on the concept of divine destiny, asserting, "Whoever believes that Allah alone gives everything must decide Allah wholeheartedly. No one asks Allah’s reasons for anything." He stressed that true faith requires accepting both prosperity and adversity as predestined by God and that gratitude should be shown regardless of circumstances.

"We were told that whoever did not accept destiny is from Allah, his belief is not complete," Sanusi continued. "One should be thankful in times of good and bad situations. We must believe that whatever happens to us is predestined by God and what we couldn’t have is from Him." As the Muslim community approached Zhul Hijja, a period rich in spiritual significance, Sanusi urged his followers to engage in supplications.

Following his sermon, Sanusi led the Friday prayers at the mosque. Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command refuted reports that dethroned Emir Ado Bayero would lead Jumma’t Prayers at Kofar Kudu Central Mosque. Both Sanusi and Bayero have claimed the emirate throne, creating significant tension in the city.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's recent decision to dethrone Bayero and give him 48 hours to vacate the throne further fueled the controversy. Despite his deposition, Bayero returned to Kano with military protection and has been residing in a mini palace. The police have assured the public of their commitment to maintaining security and allowing both leaders to observe their prayers peacefully.

In a statement, Abdullahi Kiyawa, spokesperson for the Kano Police Command, confirmed the arrangements for the security of both emirs. "The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, further assured that all necessary security arrangements have been made for Alhaji Aminu Bayero to observe his Jummah Prayers in the Mosque where he lives at the Nasarawa Palace."

The emirate tussle remains unresolved, with the reinstatement of Sanusi and the dissolution of the five emirates continuing to spark controversy and debate within Kano.
