On the sixth day of the #Endbadgovernance protests, concerned residents of Katsina State gathered at the Katsina Arabic Teachers College Playground and three other open spaces to seek divine intervention for the country’s persistent economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance. Amidst tight security, the prayer sessions saw a large turnout of men and women who conducted themselves peacefully.

Participants fervently prayed to Almighty Allah to alleviate the economic hardships, hunger, and insecurity plaguing the nation. They also asked for divine intervention to remove individuals they believed were contributing to these issues, including politicians, traditional leaders, businesspeople, security personnel, and even members of the general populace.

The residents performed the Al-Qunut Prayer, a supplication recited during times of calamity, to seek relief from their difficulties. Similar prayer sessions were held on Monday morning at various football grounds, including Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada.

One participant expressed the collective sentiment, saying, “We came here to worship God and prayed for Him to wipe away our tears.”

Initially, the End Bad Governance organizers scheduled nationwide prayers for Saturday, August 10, 2024, across various mosques and churches to seek divine intervention. This development follows a violent protest that prompted the state government to impose a curfew.
