A top independent Nigerian energy company, Energia Limited, is in the lineup with other global energy players participating at the 2025 Africa Energy Week (AEW), presently taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 29 September – 3 October 2025.

At the international event, the Chief Operating Officer of Energia Limited, Oladimeji Bashorun, will join energy industry leaders at the Upstream E&P Forum on 1st of October 2025, to participate in a high-level panel discussion titled, “Unlocking Africa’s Onshore and Shallow Water Potential - Strategies for Sustainable Exploration and Development.” The session is intended to explore pathways to the optimization of Africa’s upstream opportunities and will focus on sustainable practices, indigenous innovation, and regional collaboration. Same day, Energia will also lend its voice on thought leadership alongside Olaniwun Ajayi LP, in partnership with Africa Legal, at the Leadership Forum with the theme: “Beyond Divestments – Unleashing Indigenous Capacity to Power Nigeria’s Upstream Growth,” highlighting the critical role of indigenous companies in reshaping Nigeria’s upstream landscape amid ongoing industry divestments.

Prior to the event, the Energia COO, Oladimeji Bashorun, had hinted in a statement and said, “Africa’s upstream growth story is inseparable from the resilience and ingenuity of indigenous players. In this light, Energia has, for over two decades, exemplified this through steady, ingenious operations that continue to expand opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas landscape.”

He went on to affirm that, “beyond divestments lies a greater chance to unleash homegrown capacity, deepen local participation, and drive sustainable development that benefits both investors and host communities”. According to him, “Africa Energy Week provides the right platform to showcase how companies like ours are delivering practical solutions that shape Nigeria’s energy future.”

Energia’s participation at AEW 2025 points to the company’s commitment to building resilience and capacity within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, which is backed by a track record of over 20 years of efficient upstream operations.

As an independent oil and gas company dedicated to excellence, sustainability, and community development, the company continues to demonstrate that indigenous companies are well-positioned to drive local participation and deliver long-term socio-economic value. The company delivers growth through effective stakeholder engagement and maintains world-class safety standards across its operations. With a strong focus on responsible energy development, Energia continues to create lasting value for stakeholders, host communities, and Nigeria’s energy future.
