Enyimba FC has dismissed head coach Yemi Olanrewaju after a disappointing run of results, including a nine-match winless streak. Despite his previous coaching experience, Olanrewaju's tenure failed to deliver the desired outcomes. The club is currently in 11th place in the NPFL and bottom in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Enyimba FC, one of Nigeria's top football clubs, has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olanrewaju after a challenging period marked by a poor run of results. The club announced via a social media post on Saturday, expressing gratitude for Olanrewaju's contributions and wishing him success in future endeavors.

Olanrewaju, 32, was appointed head coach in May 2024, following the departure of Finidi George. However, his tenure has been marred by a string of disappointing performances. Enyimba has been unable to secure a win in their last nine matches across all competitions, including six consecutive draws in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The club's struggles extended to the CAF Confederations Cup, where they currently sit at the bottom of Group D with just one point from three games. Olanrewaju's dismissal came just two days after Enyimba's disappointing 1-1 draw against Plateau United in the NPFL.

During his time at the helm, Olanrewaju led the team in 26 matches, securing nine victories, and suffering seven defeats. Despite previous coaching experience at clubs such as MFM, Magate FC, and Vandrezzer, his time at Enyimba did not yield the desired results.
