Funke Akindele's latest movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, has achieved remarkable success in its opening week abroad, grossing $100,000 in cinema revenue. Released in Nigeria on December 13, the film debuted internationally in 30 countries across six continents on December 20. Akindele shared the news on Instagram, proudly declaring it as the "Nollywood film with the biggest opening weekend outside Africa."

In her post, Akindele expressed heartfelt gratitude to the film’s cast, her fans, the diasporan community, and everyone who contributed to the project’s success. She acknowledged the milestone, noting that the movie's earnings in the diaspora continue to grow. "I couldn’t have done this without you," she wrote, emphasizing the support from her fans, also known as Jenifans.

Since its domestic release, Everybody Loves Jenifa has become a box-office hit in Nigeria, earning over N500 million, making it the fastest film to reach this milestone. The film is part of the popular Jenifa franchise, which has captivated audiences since 2008. It stars a diverse cast, including Layi Wasabi, Nancy Isime, Jackie Appiah, and others. Akindele also warned against piracy, stating that anyone caught distributing the film illegally would face legal action.
