The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will shut down power at Murtala Muhammed International Airport's International Terminal 2 on Saturday from 1 AM to 4:30 AM for maintenance. The planned power outage aims to replace the Bus Riser 11KVA high-tension panel with minimal impact on flight operations.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a scheduled power shutdown at Murtala Muhammed International Airport's International Terminal 2 on Saturday, from 1:00 AM to 4:30 AM. This outage is necessary to replace the Bus Riser 11KVA high-tension panel, a critical component of the airport’s electrical system.
FAAN assured passengers and stakeholders that the maintenance work would be carried out with minimal disruption to airport activities, including flight operations. To minimize inconvenience, Royal Air Maroc, which operates during the shutdown period, will have its check-in and arrival services temporarily relocated to International Terminal 1 (ITZ-1).
The public has been informed that all relevant airlines, security agencies, and airport concessionaires will be notified of the changes in advance. FAAN emphasized that safety and security remain a top priority, and the airport will continue to function smoothly despite the planned power outage.
FAAN expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this maintenance operation, reassuring airport users that such measures are taken to ensure the long-term reliability of the airport’s infrastructure.
