Nigerian singer Asake faces backlash after his father, Fatai Odunsi, accused him of neglecting him during a health crisis. The family demands ₦50 million for a house and a DNA test for an alleged daughter. Asake responds subtly through music as fans debate the controversy.
Nigerian singer Asake is currently facing public scrutiny following allegations from his father, Fatai Odunsi, who claims that Asake has neglected him during a serious health crisis. In a video that surfaced recently, Mr. Odunsi, who has been battling a stroke since March 2022, appealed to the public for financial assistance, stating that his son has not been responsive to his calls and has failed to provide support.
The situation escalated when other family members joined the public appeal, urging Asake to take responsibility not only for his ailing father but also for his alleged 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat. They claimed that Mr. Odunsi has been caring for Zeenat in Asake's absence and called on the singer to acknowledge and support his daughter. The family also suggested that if Asake is unwilling to provide direct support, he could purchase a property worth ₦50 million in Isale Eko for his father, allowing him to live off the rental income.
In response to these allegations, Asake released a video addressing the situation. While he did not directly refute the claims, he expressed his feelings through a song, implying that he has been misunderstood and that his efforts have not been appreciated. He emphasized that it's challenging to satisfy everyone's expectations and that he has always been truthful in his dealings.
