Nzubeechukwu announced the tragic passing of her cousin Paul, who succumbed to severe burns from a gas explosion in Kano. A GoFundMe, set up by friend Uchechukwu Robbin Okeke for medical expenses, faced scrutiny over inadequate fund transfers. The family demands the remaining funds for Paul's grieving mother.

On September 13, 2024, tragedy struck as Nzubeechukwu, a Twitter user, announced the passing of her cousin, Paul, who succumbed to severe burns following a gas explosion at his home in Kano on November 15, 2023. Paul had fought valiantly for his life after sustaining third-degree burns, but his health deteriorated rapidly in recent months.

A GoFundMe account, initiated by his friend Uchechukwu Robbin Okeke, aimed to cover Paul's medical expenses. However, Nzubeechukwu expressed her dismay over the handling of the funds, claiming that although the account raised $7,506, only a small portion—800,000 naira—was transferred to Paul over several months, often in inconsistent and inadequate amounts. Frustrated by Uchechukwu’s lack of communication, she highlighted that he frequently avoided her calls.

The family devoted themselves to Paul's care, with his mother leaving her job in Lagos to support him. She is now left heartbroken following her son's death, and Nzubeechukwu has called for Uchechukwu to transfer the remaining funds to Paul's grieving mother, asserting that the money is rightfully hers.

Reactions on social media have included calls for accountability, with supporters urging for Uchechukwu to fulfill his obligations. Many users expressed their willingness to help share the message and sought advice on how to escalate the matter with GoFundMe directly. The community is rallying together to seek justice and ensure the remaining funds are properly allocated.
