Tragedy struck in Lagos as a man was found dead after being trapped in a tunnel for five days. The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority confirmed the incident, revealing the victim's identity as Tajudeen Amololo. Despite extensive rescue efforts, he perished while attempting to clear a blocked portion of an underground drainage system in the Onipan area.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) confirmed the tragic death of Tajudeen Amololo, a 59-year-old man trapped in a tunnel near the Onipan area for five days. Despite relentless rescue efforts, he was found lifeless on Friday evening.

The operation, marked by painstaking and exhausting work, concluded with the recovery of Amololo's body from the underground drainage and tunnel. LASEMA officials promptly handed over the deceased to LAMATA Drain Ducks after bagging the body.

The distress call that initiated the rescue operation came from residents and bystanders at Onipanu Bus Stop, reporting the plight of a LAMATA drainage worker trapped underground. It was revealed that Amololo became trapped while attempting to clear a blocked section of the drainage system to facilitate the free flow of water.
