Multichoice Nigeria offers 72-hour free access to all DStv channels from December 27-29, 2024, aiming to attract and retain subscribers amid rising inflation and recent price hikes. The offer includes premium content for all DStv users, including disconnected accounts, but excludes GOtv subscribers.

Multichoice Nigeria has announced an exclusive 72-hour free access to all DStv channels, available from Friday, December 27, to Sunday, December 29, 2024. The offer, described as a “gift like no other,” is open to all DStv subscribers, including disconnected users, but excludes GOtv customers.

During this promotional period, subscribers across all packages will enjoy unrestricted access to premium content, including sports, kids’ programming, local dramas, and blockbuster movies, without additional charges. Multichoice emphasized that no payments or calls are required to activate this offer, encouraging customers to make the most of the holiday season.

The initiative comes as Multichoice faces challenges from a significant subscriber loss. Between April and September 2024, the company reported losing 243,000 Nigerian customers, attributed to steep price increases amid high inflation. The economic strain, compounded by rising costs of food, electricity, and fuel, has forced many to disconnect their subscriptions.

Multichoice has previously increased DStv and GOtv prices thrice within 12 months, despite a restraining order from the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT). This defiance led to a penalty of N150 million and an order to offer one month of free subscriptions to Nigerians.
