
Nigeria’s Federal Government has declared April 18 and 21, 2025, as public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice, promote peace and unity, and support the Renewed Hope Agenda during the Easter season.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, will be observed as public holidays to mark the Easter celebrations.
The announcement came via a statement issued by Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior. Speaking through the statement, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Christians across the nation as they prepared to commemorate the Easter season.
He urged citizens to reflect on the values of love, sacrifice, and renewal, which Easter represents. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the need for Nigerians to show compassion and unity, particularly in challenging times, and encouraged everyone to extend kindness to their neighbors.
The minister further called on the public to pray for continued peace, national cohesion, and the stability of the country. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving economic progress and improving citizens’ well-being.
Tunji-Ojo ended his message by wishing Christians a joyful Easter and encouraging all Nigerians to enjoy the extended break responsibly.
