The Digest:

The Federal Government has settled with Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, ending a nearly two-decade dispute over the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Lagos. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo announced that Bi-Courtney agreed to forgo a N132 billion judgment debt, including accumulated interest. "I told him nobody was going to pay that. He wrote it off," Keyamo said. The resolution follows years of litigation over the airport concession.

Key Points:
  • Both parties agreed to remove the exclusivity clause in the original concession.
  • The government will return a revoked hotel and conference centre project to Bi-Courtney.
  • More regional flight operations will be relocated to MMA2 to improve traffic.
  • The government will now begin to earn revenue from MMA2 operations.
  • Keyamo described the deal as "a very good deal for everybody, give and take."

The settlement resolves one of Nigeria's most complex aviation concession disputes.
