In a recent investigation by FIJ, it was discovered that the solar panels attached to a block of six classrooms, constructed by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs (OSSAP-SDGs) at Comprehensive High School, Oke Aro Agbado, Ogun State, malfunctioned just one week after installation.
The news amidst controversy surrounding awarding the N47.5 million contract for the classrooms' construction in Ogun Central District, linked to former senator Ibikunle Amosun.
FIJ's visit to the school revealed that five classrooms were repurposed as offices and laboratories due to their small size, while the solar panels stopped working shortly after completion. OSSAP-SDGs denies official complaints, asserting the project's handover in perfect condition, but the school staff claims persistent attempts to seek rectification since November have gone unanswered.
