Onwenu, who passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 72, collapsed following a performance at the birthday celebration of Dr. Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals. She was pronounced dead at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja.
The family has announced that the funeral service will take place at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju. A private burial will follow at a vault in Ikoyi. The funeral proceedings will begin with a Service of Songs from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by the burial from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Onwenu had previously expressed her wishes for a quick, quiet, and private burial, which her family is honoring. She is survived by her two sons.
