Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, expressed strong criticism of the Federal Government’s economic policies, claiming they are exacerbating hardships for Nigerians. Speaking at a National Reconciliation Committee meeting in Bauchi, Fintiri said, "Nigeria is bleeding," citing anger and suffering due to ineffective economic measures.
He urged the Federal Government to reconsider these policies, emphasizing that they should not cause further pain to citizens. Fintiri called for leadership based on trust and responsibility, reminding the government that the nation belongs to its people, not international bodies like the World Bank or IMF.
Fintiri also praised the unity of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Northeast, noting that the region supported the party strongly in the last presidential election. He mentioned that despite a loss in Borno, the PDP's success in the region was clear, adding that they were still puzzled by the outcome there.
The Chairman of the PDP's National Reconciliation Committee, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, acknowledged the party’s disunity as a contributing factor to their election loss and vowed to address internal issues. The committee is focused on strengthening the party and fostering unity within the PDP to ensure better future success.
