The anticipated arraignment of top Binance officials at the Federal High Court in Abuja hit a snag as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) failed to serve charges on the defendants, citing access denial.
Lawyer Moses Ideho, representing FIRS, informed Judge Emeka Nwite of the unsuccessful attempt to serve charges on Tigran Gambaryan, one of the accused, who is held by the National Security Adviser's office.
Despite efforts, Gambaryan's lawyer opposed his plea, demanding time for consultation. The judge adjourned the hearing until April 19, after service of the charges.
Binance and its executives face charges of money laundering and tax evasion, contesting the service mode's propriety amid ongoing legal battles.
