A fish trader at Kado fish market in Abuja has been identified as the mastermind behind a series of housebreaking and robberies in Abuja. The gang targeted multiple residences in the Lugbe area, breaking into homes and stealing valuables, including gold. The prime suspect led his accomplices to a fourth house where they used a motor jack to force entry and looted a safe containing money, documents, and gold. The stolen items were sold for over ₦60 million.

The arrests followed an extensive investigation by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), which also led to the apprehension of 16 additional suspects involved in motorcycle and tricycle thefts in Plateau. These suspects posed as police officers, using fake identity cards to stop motorcyclists and steal their vehicles. They were caught following credible intelligence and were found to have sold several stolen motorcycles and tricycles.
