Former ECOWAS Court of Justice Vice President, Professor Nwoke Friday Chijioke, criticized the recent press conference held by the EFCC Chairman, denouncing it as an unjust trial and media spectacle.
Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today, Prof. Chijioke emphasized the importance of discretion in investigations, stating that the EFCC should conduct inquiries quietly.
He questioned the necessity of granting privileges to individuals suspected of wrongdoing, asserting that in corruption cases, evidence should speak in court rather than through public exposure.
Legal practitioner Daniel Bwala echoed these sentiments, condemning the EFCC's handling of the case, and emphasizing the need for reform within the commission. He criticized the EFCC Chairman's approach, suggesting that it undermined the principles of fair justice.
