David Parradang, former Nigerian Immigration Service CG, was found dead in an Abuja hotel after a visit from a female guest. Police debunked initial reports of an attack, confirming an investigation is underway. Authorities are working to locate the woman as inquiries into his mysterious death continue.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police have confirmed the death of David Parradang, former comptroller-general of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), in a hotel room in Abuja. Initial reports suggested he was attacked after withdrawing money from a bank, but police have refuted those claims.
According to a statement by FCT police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on March 3, 2025, paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after his arrival, a female guest was escorted to his room but left the premises around 4:00 PM.
The former NIS boss did not exit his room afterward. Concerned about his whereabouts, a military officer friend traced him to the hotel early the next morning. At approximately 4:00 AM on March 4, the officer, along with hotel staff, discovered Parradang’s lifeless body seated in a chair.
The Durumi Police Station was alerted, and officers secured the scene, collected evidence, and transferred the body to the National Hospital for an autopsy. Hotel staff are cooperating with the investigation, while efforts are ongoing to locate the female visitor.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Parradang’s sudden death, urging the public to avoid speculation until official findings are released.
