Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has raised eyebrows by asserting that Nigeria, often dubbed the "Giant of Africa" due to its vast population, lacks the evidence to justify the title.
Speaking at the launch of Osita Ogbu's book, "Development as Attitude," in Abuja, Jonathan emphasized the need for a shift in leaders' attitudes to align with national interests.
He stressed that even with visionary leadership, progress is hindered by the slow pace of development and over-domestication of politics.
Jonathan shared insights into his efforts to advance science programs during his tenure but expressed concern about Nigeria's technological stagnation, challenging the nation to overcome obstacles and truly live up to its potential.
