The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) confirmed the incident, stating that four passengers sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.

Authorities from LASWA and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) were quick to respond and prevent the fire from escalating. While investigations are ongoing, LASWA officials are working with ferry operators and emergency responders to determine the cause of the fire.
