President Bola Tinubu has unveiled bold plans for Nigeria's agricultural landscape, aiming to make the country self-sufficient and a net exporter of food.
In a statement released by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu outlined the administration's strategy, which includes expanding farmlands, providing low-interest loans to farmers, and making significant investments in irrigation infrastructure.
The president expressed commitment to modernizing healthcare, equipping hospitals with advanced equipment, and ensuring comprehensive health insurance coverage for all citizens. Tinubu emphasized aggressive mechanization in agriculture, with the introduction of thousands of tractors to boost food production.
The announcement was made during a meeting with the Global Tijaniyya Movement delegation, led by Muhammad Mahe Niass, where Tinubu highlighted the importance of unity through collaboration between political and religious leaders.
