The Lagos State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is considering relocating from its current office at the Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Office building in Okota, Lagos. This decision comes in the aftermath of a violent attack on the FRSC office by a mob.

The LCDA building is shared by various agencies, including the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), FRSC, and Vehicle Inspection Officers, making it susceptible to attacks during public unrest.

The attack occurred after enraged youths from Ago Palace in Okota set fire to facilities at the LCDA office, causing damage to several council-owned vehicles and the FRSC office. The protest was sparked by a scuffle involving LASTMA officials, a police officer, and a driver, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

FRSC's Lagos Sector Commander, Babatunde Farinloye, expressed concern about the recurring attacks, stating that they had previously reported these incidents to the Department of State Services and the Commissioner of Police. He emphasized the need for distinguishing between the roles of the Road Safety and LASTMA officials to prevent such attacks in the future.

While the LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, had not responded at the time of reporting, the Isolo LCDA lamented the property losses and assured that measures were being taken to prevent future incidents.

The incident has raised questions about the safety and security of government offices shared by multiple agencies in the region
