Fulham defeated Liverpool 3-2, ending their 26-match unbeaten streak, with Alex Iwobi scoring the crucial second goal. Meanwhile, Southampton's 3-1 loss to Tottenham sealed their early relegation from the Premier League, making them the first team to drop after 31 matches, marking the earliest-ever relegation in EPL history.

Southampton’s turbulent season in the English Premier League (EPL) reached its bitter conclusion on Sunday as the club was officially relegated after a 3-1 defeat to Tottenham at the London Stadium. The loss sealed the Saints' fate, making them the first team to suffer relegation this season and setting a new record for the earliest relegation in EPL history—after just 31 matches, with seven games still to be played.

Tottenham’s much-needed victory was secured thanks to Brennan Johnson’s brace and a late penalty by Mathys Tel. Despite a lone goal from Mateus Fernandes, Southampton’s performance this season has left them with just 10 points, marking a dramatic fall for the club. This result pushed Tottenham up to 14th place, with 37 points.

Meanwhile, in a thrilling encounter at Craven Cottage, Fulham handed Liverpool their first loss in 26 matches, with a 3-2 victory that ended the Reds' impressive unbeaten streak. Alex Iwobi, the Super Eagles midfielder, played a pivotal role in Fulham's turnaround. His deflected shot on 32 minutes gave the Cottagers the lead after Ryan Sessegnon had equalized Alexis Mac Allister’s opener. Despite Liverpool's strong season, this loss dropped them further in the race for the title, though they maintain an 11-point advantage over second-placed Arsenal.

While Southampton's fate was sealed at the other end of the table, Fulham's victory pushed them into the top half, securing eighth place in the standings. The game also left Liverpool with much to reflect on as they continue to battle for the EPL title.

Elsewhere, the final Manchester derby of the season ended in a goalless draw, with Manchester United and Manchester City failing to break the deadlock. Chelsea also played out a 0-0 draw with Brentford, keeping their hold on fourth place, just one point ahead of City.
