At the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Femi Adebayo’s Jagun Jagun dominated with six awards, including Best Actor, Best Costume, and Best Indigenous Film. Momiwa also won for Best Editing and Screenplay. The event celebrated outstanding Nigerian film talent across various categories.
At the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards held on Sunday night at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara, Femi Adebayo’s epic film Jagun Jagun emerged as the biggest winner. The movie, which tells the story of a powerful warlord faced with internal insecurities, took home six awards, including Best Actor (Femi Adebayo), Best Costume, Best Indigenous Film, Best Production Design, and Best Special Effect.
Another notable winner was Momiwa, which claimed two awards: Best Editing and Best Screenplay. Jagun Jagun, a Netflix original Yoruba film released in August 2023, was nominated in 12 categories, cementing its position as a standout film of the year.
The event was hosted by actress Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, and other key awards included Best Cinematography for Adire, Best Director for Bayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo (Jagun Jagun), Best Supporting Actress for Mercy Aigbe (Ada Omo Daddy), and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Keppy Ekpenyong (The Weekend).
Other awards presented included Best Social Message (Unleashed), Best Short Film (Out of Many), and Best Use of Food (Orisa). The ceremony recognized a diverse range of talents across Nollywood, highlighting both established and rising stars in various categories.
This year’s BON Awards underscored the growing recognition of high-quality Nigerian films both locally and internationally.
