The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted 13 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) to CP, and 18 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) to DCP. Additionally, 35 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) were elevated to ACP. In a statement, PSC spokesperson Torty Njoku Kalu said the promotions followed "successful performance in the recently concluded written examinations and oral interviews." PSC Chairman Hashimu Salihu Argungu congratulated the officers, noting the promotion provides an opportunity for them to contribute more to the force. The promoted AIGs include former CPs from Yobe, Ekiti, FCT, Ogun, Jigawa, Adamawa, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Lagos, Oyo, and heads of key units including the NPF-National Cyber Crime Center and Anti-Fraud FCID Annex Lagos.
