The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will run for a second term in 2027 and remain in office until 2031. Speaking at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to power rotation, assuring that after Tinubu's tenure, leadership would shift back to the North.
Addressing the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum, he highlighted the APC’s role in ensuring a balance of power between regions. He recalled that after former President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year rule, the party supported a southern candidate, leading to Tinubu’s presidency.
“Our president has come from the South and is going, insha Allah, for a second term in 2027. After that, power will return to the northern part of this country,” Ganduje asserted.
He praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a visionary reformer whose policies are crucial for Nigeria’s development. Ganduje also defended the administration’s reforms, stating that deep-rooted issues require strategic interventions.
The APC Chairman assured party supporters of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party and ensure its electoral success in 2027. His remarks come amid growing discussions on Nigeria’s political future and regional power shifts.
