APC Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje asserts that the ruling party is poised to reclaim the Southwest, beginning with the Ondo governorship election. With a strategic focus on Oyo and Osun, Ganduje urges party unity, grassroots mobilization, and overwhelming support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence that the ruling party will regain control of the Southwest region, starting with a decisive victory in the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State on November 16.

During a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, Ondo’s capital, Ganduje emphasized the party’s dedication to expanding its influence, particularly in the strategically important Southwest states of Oyo and Osun. Accompanied by prominent party figures, including Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Ganduje underscored the importance of delivering overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

“We must deliver 100 percent in favor of APC,” Ganduje asserted, encouraging the Ondo electorate to lead the charge. He remained tight-lipped on the specific tactics the APC plans to employ but assured supporters that their strategy would ensure victory.

Backing Ondo's incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Ganduje revealed that national arrangements were in place to guarantee a successful election. He appointed Governor Sanwo-Olu as the Chairman of the National Campaign Council for the Ondo election, signaling high-level party support for the campaign.

Ganduje also called on grassroots mobilization and party unity, urging stakeholders to rally behind the party for a sweeping victory. He reassured those who lost the party’s primaries, emphasizing that there are no "victors or vanquished," and called for collective efforts to ensure APC’s dominance in the Southwest.
