APC Chairman Ganduje (1).jpeg
Abdullahi Ganduje, APC Chairman, dismisses the opposition’s coalition talks, calling them "doomed to fail." He emphasizes the APC's political strength, holding power in 21 states and aiming for expansion ahead of the 2027 elections. Meanwhile, opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, continue discussions on a potential alliance.

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed the growing discussions surrounding a potential opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Friday after a Sallah visit with the APC National Working Committee to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, Ganduje confidently downplayed any serious threat posed by the opposition's unity talks. He described the coalition effort as an alliance doomed to fail, citing the conflicting interests within the opposition ranks that would prevent them from coming together effectively.

Ganduje assured the public that the APC remained the strongest political party in Nigeria, with control over 21 states and plans to extend its influence even further as the country heads into the 2027 elections. While the APC is focused on securing its hold on power, it also aims to expand its reach by attracting new states either through defections or successful electoral campaigns. Ganduje's remarks followed a visit by opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who had met with Buhari earlier in the week. Despite speculation about a potential opposition coalition, Atiku clarified that their visit was purely a post-Sallah courtesy call and not part of any political maneuvering.
