German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visits Nigeria to meet with President Bola Tinubu. His activities include discussions with ECOWAS President Alieu Omar Touray and engagements with Nigerian cultural and business leaders. Steinmeier will also tour Lagos to explore urban development challenges.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Nigeria on December 10, 2024, for a visit that will continue until December 12. He was welcomed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.

During his stay, Steinmeier will hold meetings with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Alieu Omar Touray. The German President was seen inspecting the Guard of Honour after his arrival, a key moment in his visit.

Steinmeier's itinerary includes a trip to Lagos, where he will meet with local business leaders and visit a start-up hub. He is also set to engage with figures from Nigeria's cultural sector, including renowned individuals like Dr. Nike Okundaye and Professor Wole Soyinka. Additionally, the German President will gain insights into Lagos’ urban development, including its environmental and social challenges.
