Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara attributes his ongoing political conflict with former governor Nyesom Wike to divine purpose, viewing it as a path toward the state’s political renewal. Addressing supporters, he emphasized his growing strength, resilience, and faith, underscoring his commitment to lead Rivers with integrity despite challenges.

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State recently commented on the ongoing political tensions between himself and former governor Nyesom Wike, currently serving as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Speaking at a thanksgiving service to honor the appointment of Eze Chike Worlu Wodo as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council, Fubara expressed that he sees the crisis not as a setback, but as a step toward greater “political freedom” for the state.

During his address at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Fubara emphasized his belief that divine intervention is guiding his administration through the challenges. “This situation,” he explained, “isn’t truly a problem for us. I believe it’s part of God’s plan to steer the state toward a new direction.” He added that instead of weakening him, the crisis has strengthened his resolve, empowering him and his team to continue their work with renewed determination.

Fubara’s statements come amid heightened tensions over control of the political landscape in Rivers State. The governor stressed his commitment to leading with integrity and faith, saying, “We aim to complete our work with God’s guidance, setting an example of leadership grounded in spiritual values.”

As the discord between Fubara and Wike persists, the governor’s comments underscore his reliance on faith as a source of resilience and direction for his administration.
