Bandits ambushed and killed six members of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG) and four vigilantes in Anka Local Government Area. The attack occurred as the operatives were returning from a military-led operation that had successfully neutralized several bandits.

Governor Dauda Lawal confirmed the incident, stating that the attack happened near Bagega. Three individuals, including two CPG members and one vigilante, remain missing.

The governor assured that medical aid was provided to the injured, and support would be given to the families of the deceased. Zamfara remains one of the worst-hit states by banditry, with persistent attacks despite ongoing security efforts.
