Suspected bandits launched a violent attack on Jumai Kefas, mother of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, and his sister, Atsi Kefas, along Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area on Thursday. The assault left Atsi with a gunshot wound, prompting emergency treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before her transfer to Abuja for advanced medical care.
Dauda Samaila Agbu, chairman of Wukari council, confirmed the incident and expressed deep concern, urging calm among residents while security agencies work to apprehend the assailants. Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Command described the incident as an armed robbery and acknowledged that one vehicle occupant sustained injuries, though they did not confirm the victims' identities as family members of the governor.
