HBO has unveiled the young actors stepping into the iconic roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in its decade-long “Harry Potter” TV reboot, set to premiere in 2026.
  • Dominic McLaughlin (Harry), Arabella Stanton (Hermione), and Alastair Stout (Ron) to lead the series
  • Over 32,000 children auditioned, making it one of the largest casting calls in TV history
  • Filming begins in summer 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden
  • Paapa Essiedu, John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Nick Frost also join the cast
  • The series is described as a “faithful adaptation” of the original books, with J.K. Rowling involved
The announcement ends months of speculation and casting buzz, especially among die-hard Potterheads. The producers’ choice of relatively unknown actors reflects the original films’ approach, giving new talent a global stage. With inclusivity built into the audition process and the original magic still intact, the series hopes to rekindle the wizarding world for a new generation, even as Rowling’s public image remains polarising.
