Helen Ukpabio demands N200 billion in damages from singer Bloody Civilian over defamation after allegations of encouraging child lynching. Bloody Civilian's comments, made on social media, prompted Ukpabio’s legal team to call for a retraction and apology. The singer humorously responded, mocking the lawsuit demands.
Helen Ukpabio, the founder of Liberty Gospel Church, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Nigerian singer Bloody Civilian, demanding N200 billion in damages. This follows a social media post by Bloody Civilian, born Emoseh Khamofu, in which she accused Ukpabio of promoting child lynching.

The controversy began when Bloody Civilian commented on a post celebrating Ukpabio’s 60th birthday, claiming the cleric "literally made people burn their children alive." The singer also shared a YouTube documentary criticizing Ukpabio's methods and ideologies.

In response, Ukpabio’s daughter, Imabong, threatened legal action and gave Bloody Civilian five hours to remove the post. Ukpabio’s legal team later issued a letter calling the accusations "reckless, satanic, and libelous." The letter demanded that Bloody Civilian issue a public apology and retraction on all social media platforms and in ten national and international newspapers within 72 hours.

The church founder’s legal representatives also requested the payment of N200 billion as compensation for "distress, trauma, pain, and anguish." Ukpabio emphasized that the allegations had been investigated and found to be completely false by the police.

In a playful response, Bloody Civilian mocked the lawsuit, suggesting she would offer wedding services, stand-up comedy, and dispute resolution to fund the damages.
