Former Vice-President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Isa Tijjani, has raised concerns over the persistent strikes orchestrated by labor unions, asserting that they pose a significant threat to the nation's economy.
Speaking at a press conference in Kano, Tijjani urged labor unions, led by NLC President Joe Ajaero, to explore alternatives in resolving differences with the government.
He criticized the proposed ₦485,000 minimum wage as economically unfeasible, further accusing Ajaero of having ulterior motives for frequently calling for strikes, potentially plunging the country into economic and political crises.
Tijjani emphasized the need for negotiations and preserving the integrity of the NLC.
