In a tragic incident that shook the community of Aloma in Kogi State, multiple lives were lost in a horrific accident on Sunday morning. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred in front of Aloma Teachers’ College and involved two buses and a trailer.
The collision occurred when a fully loaded Siena bus collided with an oncoming Toyota bus while attempting to negotiate a pothole on the road, resulting in an immediate ignition that engulfed both vehicles in flames. Sadly, all occupants of the Toyota bus, including the driver, were burnt to death, along with those in the Siena bus, leaving no survivors.
Additionally, an articulated vehicle parked nearby and a house in the vicinity were also consumed by the raging inferno. Despite the efforts of villagers, the absence of firefighting equipment hindered rescue operations, and the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was unavailable for immediate comment.
The Kogi State Police Command's Public Relations Officer had not responded to inquiries at the time of reporting, leaving the community in mourning and authorities grappling with the aftermath of this devastating tragedy.
