Amid economic hardship, Alhaja Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja General of Lagos State and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, appealed to Nigerians for patience during the 2024 Mawlid Nabiyy celebration. Speaking at the event held at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, she acknowledged the global economic downturn and urged citizens to maintain hope.
Tinubu-Ojo, who was also turbaned Iya Adinni of Qadiriyyah in Nigeria and Africa, assured that her father is actively working to address the prevailing challenges. She emphasized the need for patience, stating, "Everything will be alright; it’s just a matter of time."
Prominent Muslim personalities attended the event, expressing hope for the country's overcoming of economic challenges. The Chief Missioner of Al-Abrar Foundation, Sheikh Adam Muhammad Raji Adebayo, urged Muslims to turn to Allah as the solution to hardship. Sheikh Aminullah Abd’Salam Akoshile, the grand Khalifa of Tijaniyya for Lagos State, emphasized the test from Allah and the importance of patience and prayer during tough times.
Sheikh Soliu Jamiu Amasa, the Chief Host and Khalifah Qadiriyyah Lagos, called for prayers for the nation and its leaders, emphasizing the role citizens play in addressing hardship. Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim, Chairman of the occasion, commended the movement for organizing the Mawlid Nabiyy celebration, describing it as unprecedented.
