A fire broke out at Ibis Royal Hotel near Ajao Estate on Airport Road, Lagos State, on Wednesday evening. Social media videos depicted a two-story building engulfed in flames. Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu, reported the fire at 4:50 pm. The Isolo and Bolade Fire Crews from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service promptly responded to contain the fire and prevent extensive damage.
